February 19, 2020 <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />1880 Main Street <br />Centerville, MN 55038 <br />RE: Rebranding <br />Dear Honorable Mayor and Council: <br />For the past two years, the City Council has had a goal of Economic Development <br />identified as one of its three main areas of focus. As a subset of that overarching goal, <br />rebranding was identified as a way to stimulate and sustain growth of the tax base and <br />business community. We understand that the Rebranding Committee is poised to unveil <br />the new logo and begin a roll-out of the new brand. <br /> <br />The Economic Development Authority would like to express its support for the <br />rebranding effort, and has, in fact, budgeted up to $3,000 to assist with this initiative. <br /> <br />Our intent is to purchase promotional materials such as pens, coffee mugs, and the like <br />featuring the new logo. These items could be handed out at regional events where we are <br />represented, presented to new businesses as part of a welcome package, used as prizes at <br />parks and rec events, or as tokens of appreciation for volunteers. Obviously, these items <br />will not exhaust our budget, so if there are ways in which the Council feels that the EDA <br />could support the rebranding effort within our budget, please let us know. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jeff Hanzal <br />EDA President <br /> <br />
