City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 12, 2020 <br /> <br />iii. Fire Steering Committee <br />meeting would be taking place on February 18. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski reminded the audience of the Lions annual <br />Fishing Contest scheduled for February 15, 2020 commencing at 11 <br />a.m. on Centerville Lake. He hoped that the weather would be good for <br />them. <br /> <br />d. Montain <br /> <br />i. North Metro Telecommunications Commission <br />Montain stated that the Executive Committee discussed Century Link, <br />The Committee appointed board members and their next meeting will <br />be the upcoming Wednesday. <br /> <br />e. Reported that Council held their retreat at the Hugo City Hall on <br />February 1, 2020 and he felt that it was a more casual setting where Council <br />accomplished many things. He stated that Council takes their positions very <br />seriously, discussed expanding work sessions, attempted to get staff and all <br />Council Members on same page and thanked Administrator Statz for organizing <br />and leading the session. <br /> <br />He reported that the Centennial Fire District held their annual Fire Awards <br />Ceremony at the newly renovated library in Circle Pines. He stated that several <br />members of Council attended. He stated that he had a lot of pride in the <br />department and that Assistant Fire Chief Bruder received a retirement award <br />following 29 years of service. Mayor Paar thanked him for his dedicated <br />service to the communities that he served. <br /> <br />i. Mayor Paar stated that He also reported that <br />the Centennial Lake Police Department recently hired officer Eric <br />Odmark who is EMT certified. He also reported that they recognized <br />Mr. Mark Peterson, State Farm Representative, as he assisted and <br />finding suitable housing for an individual living in substandard housing. <br />He stated that Mr. Larry Hutchinson received an award as he had been <br />serving the Police Department for 20 years as their IT consultant. He <br />stated that Chief Coan was anticipated in retiring shortly and the board <br />has hired consultant Baker Tilly search firm to assist in the recruitment <br />of a new chief. <br /> <br />ii. <br /> <br />Mayor Paar reviewed all upcoming events and stated that he had hoped the public <br />would come out and participate in all of them. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br />
