THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. XX <br /> <br />RELATIVE TO THE DEFINITION, LOCATION, AND WIDTH OF <br />DRIVEWAYS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS <br /> <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Centerville hereby ordains: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Section 156.006 DEFINITIONS shall be amended by adding two new <br />definitions to be placed in alphabetical order with the current definitions, as follows: <br /> <br />DRIVEWAY. A private access road, the use of which is limited to persons residing, <br />employed, or otherwise using or visiting the parcel of land on which it is located. <br />DRIVEWAY, PERMITTED. A driveway that is of the appropriate size, location, and <br />surface as regulated by this Chapter. <br />Section 2. That the title of Section 156.166 shall be amended to read as follows: <br />§ 156.166 PARKING AND DRIVEWAY REQUIREMENTS. <br />Section 3. That Section 156.166(L) shall be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />(L) Driveway Aaccess. All off-street parking areas in non-residential zoning districts and <br />Mixed Use zoning districts shall have access from driveways rather than from public <br />streets, and except by conditional use permit, the driveway access shall be limited to <br />a maximum of 32 24 feet in width at the curb line, unless a wider driveway is granted <br />by conditional use permit. <br />Section 4. That a new Section 156.166(M) shall be added, and current paragraph (M) be re- <br />ordered as paragraph (N), to read as follows: <br /> <br />(M) Permitted driveways for residential uses. A permitted driveway for any residential <br />use: <br />(1) Shall be a minimum of 8 feet in width; maximum shall be 24 feet wide at the <br />right-of-way line and extending through to the curb or edge of roadway <br />pavement. <br />(2) For garages 24 feet in width or wider, maximum driveway width shall be the <br />width of the garage, to a maximum of 32 feet. <br />DRAFT Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />
