distancing requirements will stay in place. At such time that the Governor issues an order
allowing larger gatherings or should DNR or CDC guidance on outdoor activities change,
these operational decisions should be revisited.

Meetings
All Committee and Commission meetings (P&Z, P&R, EDA, Fete des Lacs and CC) are
now being held via Zoom, a videoconferencing application. The meetings are also
broadcast live on North Metro TV and streamed on their website. Additionally, meeting
connection information is being posted on the website and will be widely distributed so
that the public can join. During meetings, we will use the “Chat” function for the public
to be able to request an opportunity to be recognized by the chair. We are making every
effort to allow public viewing and participation of our meetings while physical access to
city hall is not available.

Local Board of Appeal and Equalization
Staff has adjusted the meeting date to May 13, 2020 along with the appropriate public
hearing notice. The meeting will be available via Zoom which is allowed by State
Statue. Staff worked with County Staff to reword notices informing residents to contact the
City for accessibility and contact with Mr. Ken Tolzmann prior to the meeting.

Centennial Public Schools – Centerville Elementary School Plat
The school has received some releases and is waiting on others. Once the school hears
from everyone, they will draw the plat accordingly and record it at the county.

Rebranding
The City Council will need to decide what an appropriate timeframe would be for a roll-out
of rebranding initiatives.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Economic Development Authority (EDA)
2020 Strategic Plan
th
The EDA held a special meeting on April 29 to review ways in which they could help the
business community during this difficult time. A business spotlight initiative is being
developed to assist businesses with gaining exposure through a custom developed video
about their business and a featured advertisement, both distributed through the city’s social
media accounts and the EDA’s web page.

Part of the EDA’s Strategic Plan is to find ways to better communicate with the City
Council and other parts of the City’s structure. To that end, a presentation was made, by
EDA President Hanzal, to the City Council earlier this year. Similar presentations are now
being contemplated for the City’s Planning & Zoning Commission as well as the Parks &
Recreation Committee. The hope is that a conversation between the two boards can started
to find ways each committee can work in tandem with the EDA towards a common goal.

1737 Main Street
