City of Centerville <br /> Park & Recreation Committee <br />May 6, 2020 <br />First place winners will receive $125 each <br />with the second place winners receiving $50 each. <br /> <br />Mr. Branch will submit an article to the paper (Citizen/Quad Community Press <br />listing the winners and an article will al <br />newsletters. <br /> <br />Thanks were given the Logo Sub-Co <br />Committee Member Heidi Erricksen-Grahek and Ms. Lonnie Olson and artists. <br /> <br />There will be a new logo contest for 2021. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Erricksen-Grahek, seconded by <br />Committee Member Waeghe for the Park & Recreation Committee to accept <br />the recommendation of the Logo Contest Judges for the winners. All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br />Motion made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member <br />Bettinger, to recommend to the City Council that the first place Elementary <br />and Middle School winners be presented a t shirt with their winning logo at a <br />cost not to exceed $100. All in favor. Motion carried. NOTE: Mr. Branch <br />will see if he can place the first and second place winners from each category on <br />the shirts and present one to the second place winners also (total of 4 shirts). <br />The Committee thanked Mr. Branch for his work on all of the activities that he has <br />been planning for Fete des Lacs. <br />c. Other updates <br />A request for a mini-grant from SHIP for a Race Timing System for the Fete des <br />Lacs runs did not meet the requirements of their funding scope. <br />3. City Wide Clean Up Day <br />The Parks Clean-up was scheduled for Sunday, April 19, but was cancelled due to <br />the Covid-19 pandemic. It was suggested to reschedule this activity for this <br />upcoming autumn. In the meantime, it was suggested that residents could help <br />keeping the parks and city cleaner by issuing a challenge to them to pick up items <br />of debris when they are out in the community. <br /> <br />Also, the parks are open, but the playgrounds remain closed. <br /> <br />4.
