City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 28, 2006 <br />Mr. Kieselhorst appeared before Council and asked for approval of the permits for the <br />2006 Fete des Lacs Festival. <br /> <br /> Mayor Capra asked where the fishing contest would be judged. <br /> <br /> Mr. Kieselhorst indicated that the boat landing would be the main location. <br /> <br />Mr. Kieselhorst indicated that they would provide the liability insurance information to <br />the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Lee, to approve <br />Special Event Permit, Fireworks Permit, Temporary 3.2 Malt Liquor License, Noise <br />st <br />Permit, Charitable Gambling Permit & 1 Annual Fishing Contest, and use of City <br />logo as requested, contingent upon receipt of appropriate insurance information. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> 3. Proposed Ordinance, Second Series Amending Section 30.02 Relating to Mayor <br />and Council <br /> <br /> Mayor Capra asked for information from other cities on this matter. <br /> <br /> City Administrator Larson pointed out that meetings are compensated per meeting in <br />addition to the monthly salary for clarification purposes. <br /> <br /> Council Member Lakso asked whether Council would like to consider a stipend for <br />Council attending meetings other than Council meetings. <br /> <br /> Council agreed to table this matter to allow time for further amendment and clarification. <br /> <br /> 4. 2007 North Metro Telecommunications Commission/Media Center Proposed <br />Budget <br /> <br /> Council Member Lakso provided an overview of the goals of the Cable Commission and <br />noted that there is a consultant working on alternative funding for 2007 because of the <br />uncertainty of what will be done with regard to the potential loss of funding in the <br />legislature. <br /> <br /> Council Member Lakso indicated that North Metro would like to hire five part time <br />employees to have a pool of employees to assist with covering community events. In the <br />past they have used volunteers for this work but that is difficult to enforce and control so <br />that is why the proposal for part time assistants at a minimum salary with no benefits. <br /> <br /> Mayor Capra asked if they would be looking to the cities for additional funding if the <br />franchise fees are lost. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 8 <br />
