SEWER AND WATER
Wellhead Protection Plan
The draft Part II plan has been sent to surrounding jurisdictions for comment. A Public
Hearing on the Plan is scheduled for September 9.

Water Main Interconnect
t next week to complete the integration of

2020 Downtown Street and Utility Improvements
Beginning on August 31, the contractor will install water services into homes that have
opted to hook to city water. The street construction crew will also be on site to continue
road building activities. Once on site, the crews will remain until the project is complete.

Water and Stormwater Utility Rates
Utility bills will be sent out during the first week of September. This will be the first set
of bills that will reflect the adopted changes to the base rates for water and stormwater.
The stormwater rate for a single family home will go up by 5% (or $0.47/month), while
the water base rate will go down a corresponding $0.47 to make the change budget neutral
for the typical home. The change was made to address the relative fund balances of each
utility and to allow for future capital projects related to stormwater.

PARKS AND RECREATION
Committee Vacancy
The parks committee has one open seat and is looking for candidate. Please apply on the
Application for Committee Appointment

Music in the Park
Attendance has been above average for most performances this year, with one observer
spotting over 60 people, 8 dogs and 9 bikes at the last event. The final performance of the
year, will feature Cindy Jo with Dirt Road Dixie on Sept. 1.
