CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: September 9, 2020 Public Works V.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: Public Input Meeting - Wellhead Protection Plan - Part 2 BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: As part of the city's requirements to operate a municipal water supply system, we are expected to prepare a Wellhead Protection Plan (WHPP). Part 1 of this plan was completed a year or so ago and we are now completing Part 2 of the plan. The attached draft of that plan (Part 2) has been submitted to surrounding jurisdictions and other agencies for comment. Also required, is for the city to provide an opportunity to the pubic to give input on the proposed WHPP Part 2 at a Public Input Meeting. Councilmembers may wish to focus their review of the draft plan, to Section 8.3 - Implementation Plan. This section outlines our commitments over the next few years. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Costs for preparation of WHPP Part 2 previously approved. Future costs are detailed in the plan. REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: The Council should have staff and consultants present a summary of the draft WHPP Part 2 and open a public input session to allow comment from the public.
