CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR ACTION Agenda Item # Department: RequestedMeetingDate: October 21, 2020 EDA VIII.2 TITLE OF ISSUE: Accepting the Resignation of Mr. Michael Giovinazzo and Declaring a Vacancy on the Board BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Mr. Giovinazzo has submitted his resignation from the EDA. He has been gracious enough to stay on board as we navigated some tough waters, through COVID and has also agreed to remain on the board until a replacement can be found. Therefore, staff is asking that his resignation be accepted, contingent upon a replacement being identified and accepted by the board. This conditional acceptance will allow the EDA to have its full compliment of members while the search process is completed. We also ask that the EDA declare a vacancy and direct staff to advertise the position for all eligible applicants. Staff is suggesting that applications be due by November 12, 2020. This will allow for interviews at the EDA meeting on November 18, with the intent of swearing in the new member at our December 16 meeting.
