CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />October 28, 2020 <br />Planning and Zoning <br />VII.4 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Preliminary and Final Plat - Centerville Elementary School Addition <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />Several years ago, when Centerville Elementary School expanded its parking lot, they applied for a Preliminary <br />Plat, to combine all of their parcels into one, thus avoiding the need for a conditional use permit to have a <br />parking lot on a separate parcel from the principal structure. In the course of review of this plat, a gap in <br />property descriptions was discovered between the west side of the school's property and the east side of 5 <br />parcels in the Lakeland Hills Addition. To remedy this gap, descriptions of these areas were produced and <br />deeds created. Each homeowner was given the option of taking the land or giving it to the school. All five <br />signed the property over to the school. With the length of time it took for this process and the fact that the plat <br />now recognizes these areas as part of it, we are asking the school to go through the Platting process again.
