shared with several real estate investors and contractors who partner with developers to find <br />viable sites. <br /> <br />Anoka County <br />Regional Economic <br />Development <br />(ACRED) <br />ACRED Events <br />The Marketing <br />Subcommittee <br />continues to plan <br />for scheduled <br />events in the fall <br />of 2020 in <br />conjunction with <br />the MN Real <br />Estate Journal. Events are being converted into virtual experiences. Below is a list of <br />events being sponsored by ACRED and their current status: <br /> <br /> Redevelopment Summit (virtual) December 8 8:30 AM -10:00 AM <br /> UpRiver Real Estate Event (virtual) December 16 8:30 AM -10:00 AM <br /> Economic Development Assoc. of MN January 2021 TBD <br /> MNCAR Expo (in-person) Postponed to 2021 TBD <br /> <br />A final round of grant funding was recently offered to businesses who had qualified for <br />either of the first two rounds <br />Order: bars, restraurants, gyms, dance studios, etc. The application period begain on <br />November 5 and was open until funds were exhausted. Grants up to an additional $10,000 <br />were be distributed on a first come first serve basis. This means that some businesses were <br />able to receive up to $30,000 in total from this program. The federal deadline to expend <br />these funds has now come to a close. No further grant dollars are available through this <br />fund. <br /> <br />FINANCE <br />COVID-19 Relief Programs <br />The city was able to spend or allocate all of its $304,902 worth of CARES Act relief from the <br />Federal Government, through the State and County and did not have to refund any of it. The <br />funds were used for: <br /> General direct expenses (hand sanitizer, plexiglass dividers, etc.) <br /> Diverted staff time (time spent on COVID mitigation) <br /> Police and Fire payroll expenses (for time spent on COVID mitigation) <br /> North Metro TV COVID mitigation efforts <br /> City Hall office area renovations for social distancing and other COVID resilience <br />items. <br /> <br />2021 Budget/Truth in Taxation <br />The Preliminary 2021 Budget was adopted by the City Council at its September 23 meeting. <br />If adopted as a Final Budget, it would raise the levy by less than 1%. The City Council may <br /> <br />
