CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: January 27, 2021 Administration WS 2 TITLE OF ISSUE: Televising of Committee Meetings BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: In 2021, the North Metro Telecommunications Commission has begun has offering the services of their staff to televise all city Committee meetings (EDA, P&Z, P&R). There is no additional charge for this service. They could also televise our City Council meetings at no charge. Prior to the pandemic, our committee meetings were not televised and out City Council meetings were done by city staff. We have found it advantageous for our city clerk to attend the meetings to keep her in the loop as to the actions of the council. She has also operated the camera system. Staff is recommending that we continue to have our city clerk operate the camera system for Council meetings, but if the Council wishes to have other meetings broadcast, it may be best to utilize NMTV staff.
