CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: February 10, 2021 EDA VII.8 TITLE OF ISSUE: Revolving Loan/Grant Program - Grant Request for 7087 Centerville Road BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Recently, the City Council adopted a Revolving Loan and Grant Program identical to the one the EDA has been poised to administer, after the County informed us that the request to use our Housing and Redevelopment Authority funds must come from the Council. It is staff's intent to have the EDA continue to make recommendations to the City Council on the award of these grants. Previously, the EDA received, reviewed and awarded a grant for a colored concrete patio at 7087 Main Street. Staff is asking the City Council to confirm this recommendation and formally request the funds from the county for this award. The grant amount is for $5,000. The work is complete and has been found to be acceptable. The owner has demonstrated the cost of the work, including his contribution of matching funds, as required. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $5,000 - HRA Funds (administered by Anoka Co.) REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to award a grant to 7087 Centerville Road for the construction of a colored concrete patio in the amount of $5,000.
