Proclamation – October Domestic Violence Awareness Month <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for Council to add or remove any item(s) to/from the consent <br />agenda. <br /> <br />Council Member Montain asked about Item #5 and stated that this program does not lineup with <br />the City’s Comprehensive Plan. Administrator Statz stated that the City recently completed its <br />Comprehensive Plan which does include housing goals. However, this is a separate program and <br />the City desires to participate in the program as funding allocations may be available. He also <br />stated that the City has minimal moderately priced homes in town and the City does have a need <br />for the program. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski asked if the City has participated in the program in the past. City <br />Administrator Statz stated yes. He stated numerous years ago, consideration had been given to <br />utilize funding for blighted areas and the City did not qualify. He also stated that the grants are <br />generally matching grants and were considered for the downtown area. Administrator Statz stated <br />that most communities throughout the state participate in the program and it makes sense for <br />funding opportunities. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
