CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />February 24, 2021 <br />Fire Steering Committee <br />WS 1 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Fire District Study Update <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />The Fire Steering Committee recently took in a presentation from their consultant, Fitch & Assoc., on the <br />results of their study of the Fire District operations. Several options for the future structure of the department <br />are being considered. Among those options are various forms of collaboration with regional partners, such as <br />the Spring Lake Park/Blaine/Mounds View (SBM), Lino Lakes, and Hugo Fire Departments, respectively. <br />Staff are engaged in discussions with those agencies to explore shared services ranging from day-time <br />duty-crew to training, administration, and inspections.
