THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION #EDA 21-03 TO INCLUDE RESTRICTIONS ON CONTENT THAT PROMOTES A PARTICULAR RELIGION, RELIGIOUS BELIEF A SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE WHEREAS, a primary purpose of the Economic Development Authority is to promote existing businesses within the city of Centerville. WHEREAS, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, many businesses have been forced to close, restrict access or have otherwise been hurt by the associated economic downturn. WHEREAS, in an effort to help local businesses promote their business through these unprecedented times, the EDA feels that providing professional assistance with social media advertising and promotion would be beneficial to the business and the local economy as a whole. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND KNOWN TO ALL, that the Board of Commissioners, of the Centerville EDA hereby establishes a business spotlight campaign to be assistance to randomly selected businesses in the city on a rotating basis. The program will be constrained by the allocated budget and pace at which our partners can produce such materials to assist selected businesses. The campaign is open to those businesses operating in the city of Centerville during the duration of the program. Once a business is featured in the program, it will not, again, be featured until all other businesses in the city have been offered the same opportunity for assistance. AND FURTHER, the program will be open to churches and other non-profits within the city.
