City of Centerville <br />EDA Minutes <br /> March 17, 2021 <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz has checked with the State of Minnesota and was told that the signs would <br />be up in May. <br /> <br /> b. CenterStage <br /> <br />Commissioner Weatherhead spoke to MJ Dog Sitters and was interested in the CenterStage <br />program. He was unable to get a response from a local landscaping firm, and discovered that <br />another place is out of business. <br /> <br />Commissioner Remillard will be talking with The Lions on March 18, 2021. He is having a <br />difficult time reaching Family Innovations because they are a national organization. He stated that <br />he has a client who belongs to Eagle Brook Church who will put him in touch with someone there. <br /> <br />President Hanzal called the Hair Gallery and has not heard back from the owner. He said that North <br />Metro TV has not been able to reach them. He also called Glasgow Accounting and did not get a <br />response. <br /> <br />Commissioner Weatherhead spoke with the new mini-storage facility regarding the CenterStage <br />program and a potential ribbon-cutting. <br /> <br />Discussion took place regarding whether or not the city should be helping to promote a non-profit <br />such as the Lions. Executive Director Statz stated that he would check with City Attorney Kurt <br />Glaser. <br /> <br /> c. Business Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br /> <br />President Hanzal asked if this would be handed over the Council. Executive Director Statz stated <br />it would be managed by the Council now, but he would ask if the EDA could still be a <br />and we have received a check from the County. He stated that he intended to speak to the owner <br />of The Southern Rail regarding their application. <br /> <br />d. COVID Relief Business Assistance Grant Program (New County <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated that Centerville is estimated to get $455,747.00 good for expenses <br />to the end of 2023. He stated the qualified expenses were very unclear and open-ended. A brief <br />discussion was had regarding how the City might spend the money. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 1. City Entrance Monument or City Center Sign <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz presented a spread sheet with a figure of $40,000.
