Work on the project is substantially complete, with a few odds and ends that may need to <br />wait until the spring start-up of the system. <br /> <br />Adopt a Storm Drain Program <br />neighborhood, you can do so by signing up here: <br />https://adopt-a-drain.org/ Fourteen people in Centerville have alrea <br />ve got a lot more than 14 storm drains)! <br /> <br />Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit <br />The city is required to hold a permit through the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />(MPCA) to own and operate our storm sewer system. The permit is commonly known as the <br />s up for renewal. The 30+ page renewal <br />application was submitted on April 15 for review and comment by the MPCA. City staff <br />work diligently to meet the requirements of this permit. Some of those requirements include: <br />street sweeping, storm pond inspections, storm pond dredging, public outreach and education <br />and illicit discharge prevention, detection and enforcement, just to name a few. <br /> <br />SEWER AND WATER <br />Commercial Water Connection Fee Assistance <br /> businesses through the pandemic, a new program <br />was introduced, cutting connection fees for city water in half, through the end of 2021 for <br />commercial properties. If you own a commercial property in Centerville that is not currently <br />hooked to city water, and are interested in learning more, please call Administrator Statz at <br />651-792-7931. <br /> <br />Wellhead Protection Plan <br />llhead Protection Plan (Part II) will be up on <br />th <br />May 20. Once this review is complete, we will move to finalize the plan and will be <br />eligible for grant funds to seal wells for those who wish to do so. <br /> <br />2020 Downtown Street and Utility Improvements <br />The contractor intends to complete punch list work on the project in the coming weeks, <br />including repairs to broken concrete and other clean-up type work. As the seed comes in <br />with the warmer weather, the contractor will monitor its growth and at some point <br />overseed areas where needed. Residents should feel free to water their seeded areas, but <br />stay off with their mowers. <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY <br />Centennial Lakes Police Department <br />Safety Improvements <br />Parking lot lighting improvements have now been completed as the final piece of the safety <br />upgrades to the police building. <br /> <br />
