CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: <br />May 4, 2021 <br />Administration <br />VIII.1 <br />TITLE OF ISSUE: <br />Rehbein Commercial and Associated Developments - Consideration of Additional Public Meetings <br />BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: <br />On April 26, 2021, the Planning and Zoning Commission held public hearings on the Rehbein Commercial <br />Preliminary Plat and several other zoning applications for associated site development within the plat. Our City <br />Attorney has advised that any further meetings at which public comment would be allowed, need to take place <br />with either the full City Council or full Planning Commission present. Further, these meetings would need to <br />be noticed to the public in the same way as the initial public hearing, meaning that there would need to be <br />mailed and published notice at least 10 days in advance of the hearing. With the submittal requirements and <br />publication schedule of the paper, the earliest a hearing could be held would be May 21 (Friday). Staff is <br />recommending that, if the Council wishes to have additional public meetings, where public comment is taken, it <br />be scheduled for Tuesday, May 25.
