MEMO OF UNDERSTANDING <br />TO: CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />FROM: ANOKA COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY <br />SUBJECT: HISTORICAL DISPLAYS <br />DATE: MAY 5, 2021 <br /> <br />The Anoka County Historical Society submits this memo of understanding to the City of <br />Centerville to formally accept the duty of maintaining and curating the contents of the display <br />case at City Hall. <br />Specifically, archivist and curator Erin McBrien will work with Mark Statz and other city <br />employees to gain access to the case for the purpose of creating a revolving display, every four to <br />six months. <br />The display will open in June with the existing archaeological and historical items donated to the <br />city by members of the community. Hanging materials purchased for this purpose will be <br />reimbursed to ACHS by the City of Centerville with the submission of appropriate <br />documentation. Content of future displays will include items from the ACHS collection or area <br />residents on loan for this purpose. <br />This project can be leveraged in the future to include newsletter articles, social media posts, short <br />videos, oral history interviews, or school programs. ACHS can work with community groups in <br />the future to help guide and reinforce the collection and preservation of the Centerville area by <br />There is no direct cost to the city for this ongoing work, other than reimbursable expenses for <br />display hardware.
