After canceling our originally scheduled City-wide Clean-up Day due to COVID, staff has <br />made some technology investments to reduce contact. A date of Saturday, October 11 has <br />been set for the rescheduled event. <br /> <br />Residential Outdoor Storage <br />In response to some citizen complaints and to help curb other disturbances in residential <br />districts, a city-wide compliance check was completed for vehicles parked in the front yard. <br />A total of 45 letters were sent to those in violation, asking them to move their vehicles off the <br />front lawn. A follow-up inspection was conducted at found about 50% compliance from <br />those who received the initial letter. The remaining half will receive another letter asking for <br />compliance. <br /> <br />Driveway and Parking Ordinance Review <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission continues to work diligently on issues related to what <br />and where certain vehicles can be parked on residential properties. Both the existing <br />ordinance and the one being contemplated by P&Z do not allow parking of any vehicles in <br />the front yard (not on the driveway). <br /> <br />Public Hearings Scheduled <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled Public Hearings on ordinances related <br />to: Industrial District Outdoor Storage Requirements, Lawn Maintenance and Backyard <br />Chickens. The hearings will be held at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on <br />October 13, 2020. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting Rescheduled <br />The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission has been rescheduled to <br />October 13, to avoid conflict with Nite to Unite. <br /> <br /> officials was held on 8/4 and produced <br />positive momentum. We are hopeful that a plan can be developed to mitigate noise. <br /> <br />th <br />7129 20Ave. <br />A letter from the city attorney was issued to the business owner allowing a final <br />opportunity to abate the lighting issues. <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS/STREETS <br />City Hall Renovation <br />Crawford Merz was awarded the contract at the City Council meeting on August 26. <br />The project will include a renovation of the city council chambers, city hall lobby, and <br />some carpet and in-floor heating work in the city hall office area. A kick-off meeting <br />with the contractor is scheduled for the week of September 8. <br /> <br />COVID-19 <br />All staff are healthy and on a regular work schedule. <br /> <br />
