October 10, 2018 ________________________________________________________________________ ADMINISTRATION 2019 Budget At the last meeting, the City Council Adopted the Preliminary Budget and Tax Levy for 2019. This amount will be publicized with the Truth in Taxation Notices. The Council may adopt the proposed levy as its final levy or may adopt a lower amount, but may not raise the proposed budget. Our next budget workshop is scheduled for October 24, just prior to the regular City Council meeting. We will be discussing the Enterprise Funds. The overall budget schedule is below: November 14 Special Work Se nal Budget and Tax Levy Adoption Centennial Public Schools City staff has been in conversation with the School Districts business director and is working through final plat issues. We are encouraged by the re-engagement of district staff and are hopeful to have this worked though in the near future. Elections In-person voting began on Friday, September 21, 2018, meaning you can now come into city hall and get a ballot. However, that ballot is kept until October 30, 2018, when eviously received ballots are sent through the ballot machine and counted. Also, starting that day, you can come into city hall, fill out your ballot and put it in the counter immediately. On Saturday, November 3, 2018, City Hall must be open for direct balloting from 10 AM to 3 PM and on Monday, November 5, City Hall must be open until 5 PM. Finally, election day is Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Thanks to Clerk Bender for keeping our city in compliance with all of these important mandates on a very complicated, and ever changing, election cycle.
