PUBLIC WORKS/STREETS <br />Staffing <br />One of our public works staff members will be undergoing surgery in November, which <br />will sideline him for plowing duties. We are exploring options to fill that void until he <br />can return to work. <br />City Hall Renovation <br />Staff met with the Safety Coordinator from our Regional Safety Group to review <br />potential OSHA grant-eligible components of a city hall renovation project. <br />STORMWATER/WETLAND <br />Met Council Stormwater Grant <br />The City received formal notification that our grant was awarded by vote of the full Met <br />Council. Staff and consultants met and are developing a formal work plan to submit to <br />Met Council for review. We are also exploring additional funding opportunities through <br />Rice Creek Watershed District to supplement the grant funds from Met Council. <br /> <br />SEWER AND WATER <br />Wellhead Protection Plan <br />The Minnesota Department of Health did not fund our grant application for $10,000 to <br />cover costs related to getting wells sealed. However, they encouraged us to submit again <br />in the spring when the next round of funding is available. <br />Downtown Water Main and Street Reconstruction <br />Staff and consultants continue to work on the plans and specifications for the Downtown <br />Street and Utility Improvements. The plans will be presented to the City Council in <br />November for bidding in December and early January. <br /> <br />Cedar Street Water Main Interconnect <br />The city has submitted an insurance claim for damage to an electrical panel and SCADA <br />controls related to a lighting strike. <br /> <br />Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve Maintenance Facility Sewer Hook-up <br />County parks staff has contacted the city requesting an extension of their sewer service to <br />some new office space at their maintenance facility in the regional park. <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION <br />Committee Vacancy <br />The parks committee has one open seat. <br /> <br />
