Inter-fund Loan At the last city council meeting, a resolution was approved reworking the inter-fund loan arrangement between the Park Dedication Fund and the Sewer Fund. Accumulated interest was forgiven and the loan will now be interest free. Also, a total of roughly $90,000 was transferred from the Park Dedication Fund to the Sewer Fund, to pay down principal on the loan. The funds came from Ruffridge-Johnson (10k), Midwest Best Water (5k) and Bayview Villas (75k), respectively. The Old Mill Estates development will pay Park Dedication Fees on per lot basis as permits are pulled. With these actions, we should see the balance on the loan drop below $1 Million before the end of the year! Long Range Capital Improvement Plan Staff has completed an evaluation of our existing park equipment and has shared that with the committee. Our Finance Director has placed this information in our Capital Improvement Plan for the Capital Outlay fund to be discussed at an upcoming workshop. Waterski Shows Staff was unable to reach a viable agreement with food vendors in time to kick this event off in 2019. The Parks Committee would still like to pursue a recurring Thursday night event to enhance the Bald Eagle Waterski Shows. PUBLIC SAFETY Centennial Lakes Police Department Staff has reached a tentative agreement with the Sergeants Union and will take that to the Police Governing Board at their next meeting. Negotiations with the Patrol Union continue with a mediation session set for Monday, December 16, 2019. Centennial Fire District The Fire Department has made contingent offers to two new firefighters to operate out of Station 3 (Centerville), one of which will be daytime available. This is a big step towards reinforcing our departments resilience. We are still actively seeking daytime responders. A graph below, shows calls to date for 2019. These results are similar to 2018.
