AsfarastheoutcryfromtheresidenceoftheLinoLakesLennarDevelopment,thereisa <br />lottounpackthere.Idon'twanttodiminishtheirconcernsastheyareourneighborbut <br />thispropertyisinCenterville.AsLinoLakesresidents,theyhavenomotivationto <br />developthat <br />land.Theylosetheopenfields,privacy,willbeinconveniencedwithtraffic <br />changesandnotgetthetaxprofits.However,theyboughtandbuiltknowthelandwas <br />fordevelopment.Ireallystruggledwiththecommentsthatthereasontheybuiltinthis <br />areawasforthesmalltownfeel.Theareinahugeresidentialdevelopmentthereisn't <br />anythingsmallaboutit.Nottomentioniftheywereconcernedwithnoise,privacy,and <br />visualaesthetics,whywouldtheywouldchoosetobuildnexttothefreewayandpark <br />andride? <br />Thisisnotanissueofnorthernplatbeingrezonedtoresidential.Ibelieveitwas <br />commissionerBenthatposedthequestionofthepreferencetolargegrocerystorevs <br />apartment.Atfirsttheywouldhavemoreprivacybutintheendtheydidn'twanttobe <br />forcedtolookatthesestructuresintheirbackyard. <br />Totheirpoint,Ihonestlyhaveconcernsaboutinfrastructureandpublicservices.With <br />thatbeingsaid,theburdenontheinfrastructureliesheavyonthe800newsinglefamily <br />homesratherthananapartmentwith100unitsthataremostlystudioand1bedroom. <br />IftheLennarhomeownerswerereallyconcernabouttheinfrastructure,safety,and <br />traffic,theywouldbepetitioningtheCityofLinoLakestohaltthephasesoftheLennar <br />developmentandaskthatbothcitiesandAnokacountytodotrafficstudiesetcrelating <br />tothis.Frommyknowledge,thisisn'tthecase.Ithinkitwouldbeunfairtoask <br />Centervillenottodevelopthatareaduetoinfrastructureconcernsbutnotaskthesame <br />ofLinoLakes. <br />ThelastthingthatIhavetosayisIfounditreallynauseatingthecommentsand <br />judgementsonpeoplewholiveinapartments.Thattheywouldincreasecrime, <br />decreasepropertyvalue,won'tbeabletoaffordluxuryapartments.Theyaskquestions <br />likewhatdowegetoutofthisandwedon'twantthesepeopleusingtheHOAparks <br />thereforerestrictthepublicpathways.Tome,thisreallyjustbringstheissuetolight <br />thatthiswasmostlyaboutwantingtorestrictwhatandwhoiscomingintothearea.It <br />haslittletodowiththereasoningsthatwereprovided. <br />Thanksforreading. <br />JessKubat <br />3 <br /> <br />
