City of Centerville <br />EDA Minutes <br />January 20, 2021 <br />c. COVID Relief Business Assistance Grant Program (New County <br />Program-State Funds) <br /> <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 1. None <br /> <br />VII. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 1. Resolution EDA 21-001 - Accepting Resignation of Michael Giovinazzo <br /> <br />Motion by President Hanzal, seconded by Commissioner Weatherhead to adopt Resolution <br />EDA21-001, accepting the resignation of Commissioner Michael Giovinazzo. A roll call vote <br />was taken. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> 2. Resolution EDA 21-002 – 2021 Appointments <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz presented a copy of the bylaws regarding appointments and suggested <br />that the incoming person take the positon of treasurer. <br /> <br />Motion by President Hanzal, seconded by Commissioner Weatherhead, to adopt Resolution <br />EDA21-002, setting the appointments for the EDA Board for 2021. A roll call vote was taken. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> 3. Review 2021 Strategic Plan <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz presented an updated version of the September budget, which had been <br />modified to reflect its current state, and wanted to discuss ways to spend the allocation. He stated <br />that he would like to set aside money for celebrations when businesses open, such as the memory <br />care facility, banners on Main Street, large flower pots downtown and an entrance monument. He <br />suggested starting an account to save money for an entrance monument. He stated that he would <br />like to plan to continue running the various programs through the end of the year. <br /> <br />Discussion was had regarding different ways the commission might spend their money, and how <br />place-making items such as flower pots and flags attract businesses and contribute to economic <br />development in the city. <br /> <br /> 4. Declare Potential for a Quorum of the EDA at February 2, 2021 Planning and <br /> Zoning Commission Meeting <br /> <br />Motion by President Hanzal, seconded by Commissioner Weatherhead, to declare the <br />potential for a quorum of the EDA at the February 2, 2021 Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Meeting. A roll call vote was taken. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
