City of Centerville Park & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes June 2, 2021 Appreciation to the Public Works Department who installed the street banners, purchased by the EDA in the downtown area along Main Street. Thank you also to the City of Lino Lakes for the use of their equipment. 4. Staff Updates - Administrator Statz Administrator Statz provided the following updates: City of Centerville Website: This is a priority to be completed this summer and include pages for P & R, EDA and other departments, committees and areas of interest. Park & Trail Plan: This will be presented in July. uth dropped off equipment information to Mr. Palzer on Tuesday and suggested that Acorn or LaMotte would be better suited for this type of equipment. P & R Events Calendar: Committee Member Errickson-Graheck will present a report at the July meeting. LaMotte Restrooms: This building will be unlocked during park hours; additional information is needed from Mr. Palzer, P.W., regarding replacement faucets. Volunteer Appreciation Event: Committee Member Seeley and Administratorp Statz will coordinate this event in the fall. Pleasure Rink: To be added to future agenda. DNR Sale of Trees: Need to research type of trees/shrubs available in the spring Commercial Development: Two of the three projects have been approved - Kwik Trip with a car wash and the Assisted Living/Memory Care; the Apartment complex & zoning issues will be discussed at a special council meeting on June 3. Street Project Downtown: This project is close to being completed. Administrator's Report: This bi-monthly report is available via email to anyone who requests it and online. Historic Artifacts: Several artifacts are currently on display in the new Council Chambers plus several items will be placed on permanent display at the Wargo Center. Council Member Lasko reported that over $350,000 in Park Dedication Fees will be available from the proposed commercial developments and it has been suggested that these funds be used to pay down the current balance of $700,000 of the loan. Also the P & R Capital Improvement Plan also needs to be reviewed and modified if needed. Committee Member Errickson-Grahek suggested a review of the skate park as well as the basketball court(s) as part of the capital improvement plan. 6. Gaga Balls New Gaga balls have been purchased and will be placed near the Gaga pit. Cost for 6 balls is $20. 7. Chair Waeghe announced his resignation from the Committee effective immediately. Motion made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Errickson- Gragek to reluctantly accept the resignation of Chair Kevin Waeghe. All in favor. Motion carried. IX.
