Today I promoted Officer Brian Goetzke to the
rank of Sergeant. We are very fortunate to have Brian join our leadership team. He already
contributes in many different ways to the department by way of training, etc, and he always
roles and responsibilities as we continue to work hard to meet the needs of our communities
while we serve with courage and compassion. Thanks to all who participated in the process
th
the new position will be Saturday, July 10. Please join me in congratulating Sergeant Brian
Goetzke on his achievement! JM

New Officer
From the Chief:
It is always a very exciting day to welcome a new officer to our department, and today is one
of those days. It is with great pleasure that I announce that Anthony Tonda has successfully
completed all of his background requirements and has been given an official start date of
August 2nd to begin his police officer training. Anthony grew up in South St. Paul and
graduated from South St. Paul High School. From there he attended Inver Hills Community
College where he obtained his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He then continued his
training at Hennepin Technical College where he received his Law Enforcement Skills
Certificate. Anthony is currently working at M Health Fairview as a Security Guard. He is
also working as a Community Service Officer for the West St. Paul Police
Department. Fortunately for us, he will be leaving both of those positions behind as he joins
our team to serve the citizens of Centerville, Circle Pines, and Lexington. Anthony is very
excited to begin his law enforcement career, and we are very excited to have such a great
candidate join our department. Please take a moment to welcome Anthony to our department
when you get the chance. JM.
