<br />City of Centerville <br />Park and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br />April 7, 2021 <br />Motion made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Waeghe to <br />accept the proposal of Girl Scout Troop 57269 for the addition of a small pollinator garden <br />(6' x 4') in Acorn Park (at the southwest corner of the park, near the pond). All in favor. <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />8. 21-004 LaMotte Restrooms <br />It was noted that the restroom was inadvertently left unlocked for a short period of time was <br />vandalized and received slight damage due to water. A suggestion was made by Committee <br />Member Seeley to replace current faucets with automatic shutoff faucets. <br /> <br />9. 21-006 Park Clean Up Day & Assess ADA Playground Equipment & Tree Planting <br /> <br />This activity is scheduled for Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Parks awaiting clean-up are <br />Acorn Creek, Eagle, Hidden Spring, Cornerstone, Trailside, Tracie McBride and Royal Meadows, <br />plus the public shoreline of Peltier and Centerville Lakes. Gloves, safety vests and garbage bags <br />will be provided for all participants. Also, committee members will be noting any needed <br />maintenance or damage and also assessing the needs for ADA playground equipment and tree <br />planting. The Little League will be completing the clean-up at Laurie LaMotte. Committee <br />Members Peterson and Waeghe's Scout Troop are willing to clean up a specific park, possibly <br />Hidden Springs on a date following the event as they will not be able to attend. <br /> <br />VI. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. 19-014 - Main Street Market – Ms. Angela Conley <br /> <br />a. Venders: seven have submitted applications & payment - two are food and five are crafts; <br />farmers with their produce are still needed – Mr Statz spoke with a farmer in Centerville that may <br />be interested in being involved. Committee Member Seeley suggested having a vendor(s) selling <br />honey and/or maple syrup and possibly an orchard. There may be a few vendors who would like <br />to participate for 1 or 2 weeks. <br /> <br />b. Volunteers: at this time there are 3 individuals who have expressed an interest in volunteering <br />onsite during the market. <br /> <br />c. Promotion: add market information to Anoka County website, Centerville city website, <br />Facebook event page, press releases and paid advertising, signage. <br /> <br />d. Logistics: maximum of 28 vendors <br /> <br />e. Recommendations: provide an entrance tent, signage. <br /> <br />f. Volunteer Job Description: Ms. Conley developed a description for the onsite market manager <br />and other volunteers as well as an application form. <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee Member Seeley to <br />approve the revised Main Street Market proposal provided by Ms. Angela Conley.
