City of Centerville <br />EDA Minutes <br /> May 19, 2021 <br />Executive Director Statz presented check #001003 in the amount of $84.15 made out to the City <br />of Centerville to transfer from EDA checking account to Main Checking account for IRS/EFT <br />payment for FICA/Med. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Weatherhead, seconded by Commissioner Mosher, to approve the <br />check list as presented. A roll call vote was taken. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> 2. Communications <br /> a. None <br />VI. REPORTS <br />Executive Director Statz presented a report on Safely ending COVID-19 restrictions. He stated the <br />st <br />CDC changed the requirements just as this meeting approached. He noted starting June 1 the City <br />will start meeting in person, they will have a hybrid set-up so there is a zoom option for people <br />ey will invite the public to attend in-person and <br />will most likely request everyone wear masks and see how things go from there. He noted the <br />meetings will also be broadcasted on the cable channel per normal. <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated the City has two open Summer Public Works Technician positions, <br />and noted for more information you can call 651-429-4750 or stop into the City Hall for an <br />application. <br /> <br />th <br />The Main Street Market will be going through August 12 and Fete des Lacs is going to be July <br />th <br />13-18. The City needs volunteers for parade day, specifically a parade announcer. They are also <br />looking for sponsors for the event and hope to exceed $7,000 this year. <br />th <br />Music in the Park is set to start on June 8 and will go for 9 weeks this season. <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated the new City banners will be installed soon on the Main Street light <br />poles and noted the CenterStage program continues to offer free advertisements for local <br />businesses. <br />Executive Director Statz stated the City will receive funds from the American Recovery Program <br />(ARP) again, around the amount of $450,000. He stated the program is similar to before with a <br />few changes. One change is that this time around they will need to show the specific COVID <br />related expenses and work that the Police and Fire departments are doing to cover those expenses <br />with the funding. Another change in the program is that the sewer and water projects are eligible <br />this time around, so they are looking at ways to incorporate those into the use of funds. Last time <br />the City had about eight months to use the funding provided through this program and this time <br />they have given the City through December 2024 to use the funds. <br /> <br />The developer for Old Mill Estates has started on site clean-up, landscaping, tree planting, <br />sidewalks, trails, mailbox and street sign installation. <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br />
