CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />RES. #21-010 <br />A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATIONS TO THE CITY <br />WHEREAS, the City of Centerville is generally authorized to accept donations of real and personal <br />property pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 465.03 for the benefit of its citizens, and is <br />specifically authorized to accept gifts. <br />WHEREAS, the following persons/entities have offered to contribute the cash amounts set forth <br />below to the city: <br />Name of Donor <br />Amount <br />Michael Giovinazzo Agency Inc. $100.00 <br />Remillard Insurance Agency, LLC $100.00 <br />Teresa Bender $20.00 <br />WHEREAS, the terms or conditions of the donations, if any, are as follows: <br />In exchange for the hiring of a Clown/Balloon Artist & Face Painter for the purpose of sponsorship <br />and offering an event to children at the Main Street Market with the understanding that the events <br />would happen on two (2) different events for a length of two (2) hours each <br />WHEREAS, all such donations have been contributed to the city for the benefit of its citizens, as <br />allowed by law; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is appropriate to accept the donations offered. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The donations described above are accepted and those same funds will be expended <br />to pay costs associated with the hiring of Ms. Denise Chapeau aka, Sassie the Clown (Check <br />#33920, July 28, 2021) and Kristine Steenberg, Face Painter (Check #34469, 8/11/2021) as <br />allowed by law. <br />2. The city clerk is hereby directed and has issued receipts to the donor acknowledging <br />the city's receipt of the donor's donation (Receipt #16805, 16804 & Conf. #82975392 attached and <br />made a part of this resolution). <br />Passed by the City Council of Centerville, Minnesota this 25th day of August, 2021. <br />Mayor, D.
