City of Centerville <br />EDA Minutes <br /> June 16, 2021 <br /> <br />a. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated he attended the recent quarterly meeting and they had a lot of good <br />discussion on their strategy for 2022. He noted they will be hosting a tent at the 3M Open July 22 <br />– 25, 2021. <br /> <br /> b. Quad Area Chamber of Commerce <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated he attended their recent meeting which was held at Laurie LaMotte <br />Memorial park and stated that they are planning a Business Expo to be held in the fall. <br /> <br />c. Hugo Area Business Association <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz spoke briefly about this organization and stated Chief Hot Hands, Larry <br />Giles was there and was able to introduce his business to more people which was great. <br /> <br />3. Year to Date Financials <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />4. Ongoing Programs: <br /> <br /> a. Blue Logo Sign <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated that the signs are up and look great. <br /> <br /> b. CenterStage <br />(i) Review of Eligibility Requirements <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz reviewed a report from Ms. Michelle Koch with Main Street Marketer. <br /> <br />There was discussion on how the Commission feels about allowing people to jump ahead before <br />their turn on the list if they have a special event coming up that they would like to advertise. The <br />Commissioners agreed that would be fine to do within reason. <br /> <br />c. Business Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz briefly discussed this item. <br /> <br />d. COVID Relief Business Assistance Grant Programs <br /> <br />Executive Director Statz stated that the City has not received this funding to date but it is estimated <br />to be $420,000. He stated that the funding has certain spending requirements and a lengthier <br />timeframe for use which is different from the previous funding received. <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
