Proposal Timeline Release RFP February 2, 2017 Last date for questions February 15, 2017 by noon Submission of proposals February 17, 2017 by 10 a.m. Sub-Committee review February 17 - 28, 2017 City Council Approve Contractor March 6, 2017 Project Overview The intent of this request is to obtain the services of a firm to design and construct a skate park, hereinafter referred to as the Ð Contractor Ñ for the City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as the Ð City.Ñ Services of a multi-disciplinary team with skate park design, landscaping and construction experience is required to assist staff preparing plans for the elements outlined in this proposal. Anticipated disciplines should include landscape architecture and structural engineering. The city is seeking proposals for a Contractor to fully design and construct a concrete skate park at Carpenter Park, 3001 Raleigh Avenue South in an amount not to exceed $230,000. Section 2 Project Description The Contractor services to be performed are for design, equipment, and construction services for the following: 1. Site plans for the Carpenter Skate Park. 2. Plans, specifications, schematic designs, construction documents and the actual construction for the Carpenter Skate Park. There will be a city engineered storm water project on this site underneath the skate park. The selected vendor will work with the city engineering department on load requirements. 3. The project size will be approximately 9,000 square feet with concrete skate park design. 4. The design must include, but not necessarily be limited to, both ÐstreetÑ (e.g. flat surfaces, stairs, rails) and ÐtransitionalÑ elements (e.g. curved surface, quarter pipes), lighting and seating, and must accommodate skaters at a range of skill levels, from beginners to advanced. 5. Construction cost estimates for the Carpenter Skate Park separated out into design costs and construction costs, in an amount not to exceed $230,000. 6. The selected vendor will design and create the concrete skate park all as one structure. 7. The selected vendor must obtain all necessary permits from the St. Louis Park Inspections Department.
