A few questions arose regarding consistency through the policy regarding how much snow should trigger a plowing event and with whom the authority rests for deciding when to plow. Staff has reviewed the policy a . The authority to trigger a plowing event rests, solely with the Public Works Director. He informs his decision by following multiple forecasts from various outlets and weighing other factors such as staff availability, rush hour traffic, overtime costs and the like. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Costs for snow plowing come out of the city's general fund. REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Discussion items only, during the workshop. An agenda item is included in the council meeting, should the council wish to change the policy.
