CHAPTER30:GENERALPROVISIONS <br />Section <br /> 30.01 Elections; terms of Mayor and Council Members <br /> 30.02 Mayor and council obligations, salary of mayor & council/special requirements for elected <br /> officials to be considered for city employment <br /> 30.03 Administrator <br /> 30.04 Personnel policies adopted by reference <br /> 30.05 Community Service Officer <br /> 30.06 Building Inspector <br />§ 30.01 ELECTIONS; TERMS OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />(A) Date of elections. The regular city election shall be held biennially on the first Tuesday after the first <br />Monday in November in every even-numbered year. <br /> <br />(B) Terms of Mayor and Council Members. Two Council Members shall be elected for four-year terms at <br />each biennial election. The Mayor shall be elected for a two-year term at each such election. <br /> <br />Ord. #9, amended 06/12/1974 <br /> <br />§ 30.02 MAYOR AND COUNCIL OBLIGATIONS, SALARY OF MAYOR & COUNCIL/SPECIAL <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR CITY EMPLOYMENT <br /> <br />(A) Obligation to attend meetings. It is the obligation of each elected official to attend regular and special <br />meetings and; the Council may compel the attendance of members. There will be no penalty for <br />members missing up to three (3) regular or special meetings per year; thereafter a missed meeting will <br />result in a deduction from compensation of $50 per meeting, unless excused by majority vote of the <br />Council. <br /> <br />(B) Salary of Mayor. The salary for the Mayor is hereby established at $525.00 per month. (Effective date <br />1/1/2007) <br /> <br />(C) Salary of Council members. The salary for Council Members is hereby established at $450.00 per <br />month. (Effective date 1/1/2007) <br /> <br />(D) Eligibility for employment. An incumbent mayor or council member may not be considered for regular <br />employment with the City unless such person has resigned from such elected office before making <br />application for employment.
