§ 150.10 UNIFORM FIRE CODE ADOPTED. <br />(A) Uniform Fire Code adopted. There is hereby adopted by the city, for the purpose of prescribing <br />regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, incorporates into <br />this Code the Minnesota State Fire Code set forth in Minnesota Rules, Chapter 7510, which is based on <br />the 2000 edition of the International Fire Code, and as said rules and code may be, by the state, amended <br />from time to time, or replaced. One copy of the code adopted in this section is on file in the office of the <br />Fire Prevention Bureau and one copy is on file in the office of the city, and the same are hereby adopted <br />and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein. From the date on which this section shall take <br />effect, the provision thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city. <br /> <br />(1) The city adopts by reference the following appendices to said International Fire Code, their <br />successors and amendments: <br /> <br />(a) Appendix B - fire flow requirements for buildings; <br /> <br />(b) Appendix C - fire hydrant location and distribution; <br /> <br />(c) Appendix D - fire apparatus access roads; <br /> <br />(d) Appendix H - fires or barbecues on balconies or patios (as amended by Minnesota <br />Rules, 7510.3710, subpart 11); <br /> <br />(e) Appendix I - special locking arrangement for group I occupancies (as amended by <br />Minnesota Rules 7510.3710, subpart 12); <br /> <br />(2) Appendix B, Section 105.1, of the 2000 International Fire Code is not adopted and is not a part <br />of the city ordinance. <br /> <br />(B) Establishment and duties of Bureau of Fire Prevention. <br /> <br />(1) The State Fire Code shall be enforced by the Bureau of Fire Prevention (or other designated <br />agency) in the Fire Department of the Centennial Fire District which is hereby established and <br />which shall be operated under the supervision of the Chief of the Fire Department. <br /> <br />(2) The Chief in charge of the Bureau of Fire Prevention (or other designated agency) shall be <br />appointed by City Council on the basis of examination to determine his or her qualifications. <br /> <br />(3) The Chief of the Fire Department may detail members of the Fire Department as inspectors as <br />shall from time to time be necessary. The Chief of the Fire Department shall recommend to the <br />City Administrator and City Council the employment of technical inspectors who, when that <br />authorization is made, shall be selected through an examination to determine their fitness for the <br />position. The examination shall be open to members and nonmembers of the Fire Department, <br />and appointments made after examination shall be for an indefinite term, with removal only for <br />cause. <br />257΋tğŭĻ <br /> <br />
