<br />Approved <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville’s Parks & Recreation Committee held a <br />scheduled meeting on January 5, 2022 in the Council Chambers at City Hall with the option of attending <br />virtually via Zoom. <br /> <br />Present: Committee Member Emem Akpan <br /> Committee Member Heidi Errickson-Grahek <br /> Committee Member Kathy Freiermuth <br /> Committee Member Jessica Kubat <br /> Committee Member Brian Peterson <br /> Committee Member Suzanne Seeley <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator Mark Statz <br /> Assist. City Administrator Athanasia Lewis <br /> Council Liaison Michelle Lakso <br /> <br />Absent: Committee Member Chris Bettinger <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Chairperson Errickson-Grahek, called the January 5, 2022 meeting of the Parks & Recreation Committee <br />to order at 6:36 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Centerville City Hall. <br /> <br />II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion made by Committee Member Akpan, seconded by Committee Member Peterson to add <br />the following under VI. New Business: 3. Music in the Park and 4. Tracking of Event Volunteers. <br />All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />III. APPEARANCES – Ms. Cori Sendle, Centennial Schools Community Education <br /> <br />Ms. Cori Sendle, Centennial School District Community Education, again appeared before the <br />committee to determine their interest in collaborating on summer events. Ms. Sendle stated that the <br />events would need to be included in their spring/summer event listing/publication and stated that popular <br />activities are sports, arts, science, and computer activities. <br /> <br />It was suggested that a sub-committee be formed to evaluate potential day-time and evening, one-time <br />or multi-week events/activities and work with Ms. Sendle to include them in their agenda of activities. <br />It was determined that Committee Members Akpan, Kubat and Errickson-Grahek will serve on this sub- <br />committee. Ms. Sendle will forward suggestions to the sub-committee. The sub-committee will report <br />to the full committee in February. Previous discussions for events involved pumpkin carving, Art in the <br />Park and additional activities that would tie in with Main Street Market. <br /> <br />IV.
