City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 8, 2021 <br /> <br />Administrator Statz stated that his Administrator’s Report was included in the packet and that he <br />would be happy to answer any questions that Council may have. He also reported that the asphalt <br />pavement has been installed at the mini-storage. However, fence and exterior security cameras <br />remained to be completed. He noted the City is struggling to get residential developers to finish <br />their projects. <br /> <br />Attorney Glaser noted that his firm has hired a newly graduated attorney assisting in attaining pre- <br />pandemic staffing levels. He stated that Ms. Anna Spencer is very excited to commence her career <br />and anticipates working with the City in the new future. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br />a. Lakso <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee – Council Member Lakso reported <br />that both Movies in the Park and Main Street Market continue to be very <br />well attended. She also reported that the City is looking at tree trimming <br />in Eagle Park and received recommendations from a DNR forester. She <br />stated that the information would be forwarded to Public Works. She <br />stated that a Volunteer Appreciation Event has been scheduled for <br />October. <br /> Anoka County Fire Protection Council – Council Member Lakso <br />stated that the Centennial Lakes Community Response Team was <br />recruiting again and that information could be found on the police <br />website. She also reported that two (2) of the Centennial Fire District <br />firefighters were deployed to assist victims of Hurricane Ida. <br /> b. Koski – <br /> Planning & Zoning Commission – Council Member Koski stated that <br />the Commission held three (3) public hearings regarding: <br />Garbage/Rubbish - dumpster bags, Home Occupations - auto repair <br />shops and Fencing. He reported that the commission has held numerous <br />discussions regarding parking and outside storage and will be holding a <br />Public Hearing to gain public input regarding the item. He thanked the <br />commission and staff for their hard work on this item as it has been a <br />very lengthy process due to Covid and such. <br /> Fire Steering Committee – Council Member Koski stated that budget <br />discussions were had, approved and forwarded for Council <br />consideration this evening. <br />c. King <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member King reported <br />that the EDA Business Appreciation would be taking place tomorrow <br />evening from 5-7 p.m. <br />d. Mosher <br /> Economic Development Authority – Council Member Mosher gave <br />no report. <br /> Police Governing Board – Council Member Mosher gave no report. <br />e.
