CITY OF CENTERVILLE CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION & COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 8, 2021 5:00 p.m. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held a City Council Work Session & City Council Meeting on December 8, 2021. WORK SESSION I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor D. Love called the special meeting to order at 5:04 p.m. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Mayor D. Love Council Member Russ Koski Not Approved Council Member Darrin Mosher Council Member Steve King ABSENT: Council Member Michelle Lakso STAFF: City Administrator Mark Statz City Attorney Kurt Glaser II. ITEMS OF DISCUSSION 1. Interview Candidate Jr. Council Member Î Mr. Danny Peterson Administrator Statz introduced Mr. Danny Peterson to Council. He stated he contacted the High School Principal in regards to choosing a candidate for the Jr. Council Member position. He stated that the Principal recommended Mr. Peterson provided that he met our requirements and expectations. Administrator Statz stated that he met with Mr. Peterson and felt that he would meet the CityÓs qualifications so he invited him to attend this eveningÓs meeting to introduce himself. Mayor Love asked Mr. Peterson to come to the podium and introduce himself to Council. Mr. Peterson stated that he lives in Centerville and is a junior at Centennial High School. He also stated that he likes to watch basketball, hang with friends and is a big fan of Marvel films. He mentioned that his taste in music varies from hip hop to R & B. Mayor Love and Council asked him several questions as to why he wanted to be involved in City government and what he hoped to gain from being a Jr. Council Member. Mr. Peterson stated he felt that it would be a great opportunity to learn how City government works, be able to help make decisions on behalf of Centerville and give a younger view point. A lengthy discussion ensued. Mayor Love stated that he did very well and thanked him for attending and his desire to participate in the CityÓs program.
