<br />Administrator/Engineer’sReport <br />March9,2022 <br />PARKS AND RECREATION <br />Park Board Vacancy <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee has a <br />vacancy after the City Council accepted the <br />resignation of long-time member Chris <br />Bettinger. Chris served on the Parksand <br />Recreation Board for nearly a decade and has <br />been a part of many projects and the growth of <br />new programs throughout his time on the board. <br />There are a lot of interesting things happening in Centerville and it’s a great time to volunteer! <br />To apply for the vacant position, please submit an application by completing an online form: <br />click hereor stop in to city hall to obtain an application. <br />Volunteers Needed –Fete des Lacs <br />The Fete des Lacs Committee is <br />looking for volunteers to take on the <br />roles of Parade Coordinator and 5k/8k <br />Fun Run Coordinator (two separate <br />positions). Call City Hall if interested <br />651-429-3232. <br />Skate Park <br />The Parks and Recreation Committee <br />continues to look for the public’s input <br />on the existing Wheels Skate Park at <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. The <br />facility is nearing the end of its useful life and there are important decisions regarding its future <br />that need to be made and taken into consideration (i.e. complete some major maintenance on <br />the existing equipment, buy new modular ramps, rails and the like) or make a major investment <br />in a poured concrete facility? Send us your thoughts at info@centervillemn.com. <br />Miscellaneous <br />The Parks and Rec Committee approved acouple of special event applications at their March <br />nd <br />2meeting. An application was approved for the Shake your Shamrock 5/7K event on 3/19/22. <br />An application for a graduation party to be held at Hidden Springs Parkfrom 10:00 a.m. to <br />th <br />5:00 p.m.on June 5was also approved. Finally, Parks and Rec. approved a maintenance <br />contract for ballfield repairs at Laurie LaMotte park. Public Works will be the point of contact <br />for questions pertaining to the repairs. <br />ADMINISTRATION <br />Council Retreat <br />th. <br />The City Council held their annual retreat on March 5The councildiscussed goals and <br />objectives for 2022, and they participated in a facilitated exercise on the Clifton Strengths <br /> <br />
