City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 27, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br />1. July 28, 2021 City Council Work Session, Meeting and Closed Executive <br />Session Minutes <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for Council to make modifications to the minutes if desired. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso would like the record to state City Council were supportive. <br /> <br />City Administrator Statz questioned whether City staff could make the adjustment or does City <br />Council require approval for the adjustments. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Mosher, to Approve the <br />July 28, 2021 City Council Work Session, Meeting and Closed Executive Session Minute as <br />Amended. A roll-call vote was taken. Mayor Love and Council Members King, Koski, Lakso <br />& Mosher voted in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VII. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />1. City of Centerville Claims through October 27, 2021 (Check #34640-34673), <br />(1766-1781E) & Voided Check #34638 <br />2. Centennial Lake Police Department Claims through October 21, 2021 (Check <br />#14042-14052), Payroll Check #14053-14054 & (2021055-2021056E) <br />3. Centennial Fire District Clams through October 12, 2021 (Check #9184-9191, <br />E202102) <br />4. Endorsement of Metro Cities’ 2022 Legislative Policies & Appointing City <br />Administrator as a Voting Representative This item was removed from the <br />consent agenda. <br />5. Encroachment Agreement, 1784 Meadow Lane – Fence This item was removed <br />from the consent agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Love provided an opportunity for the Council to add or remove any item(s) to/from the <br />consent agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Love inquired whether endorsing legislative policies is a practice the City Council partakes <br />in. City Administrator Statz stated it has been done but sometimes the timing of these policies do <br />not coincide with City Council meetings. Mayor Love also wondered if City Administrator Statz <br />will be the sole voting member. <br /> <br />Council Member Koski questioned if City Administrator Statz could explain the function and <br />purpose of the Metro Cities group. City Administrator Statz explained Metro Cities is an arm of <br />the League of MN Cities, focusing on the metro area to provide lobbying services at the legislative <br />level. Metro Cities tracks legislation through the process. Legislators tend to listen to this group <br />because of its large size. <br /> <br />Mayor Love added this is a great opportunity for city officials to become involved and help set <br />policies. <br /> <br />Page 2 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
