CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: March 23, 2022 Administration VII.4 TITLE OF ISSUE: Donation to Anoka County Historical Society BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: As part of the design of city hall renovations, a "history niche" was added to the council chambers. In May 2021, the city and Anoka County Historical Society (ACHS) signed a memorandum of understanding assigning ACHS the responsibility of maintaining and curating the display case on an ongoing basis. The city's only expense is to reimburse ACHS for display hardware, which is approximately +/- $250.00 every four to six months, and paid from the General Fund. The city values partnership with the Anoka County Historical Society, and would like to make a donation to ACHS to show their appreciation for the hard work that they have poured into maintaining and curating the city's historic exhibit. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: $500.00 from the General Fund (one-time allocation) REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to adopt Resolution #22-0 approving a donation to the Anoka County Historical Society in the amount of $500.00 from the General Fund.
