CENTENNIAL <br />2 East Road <br />FIRE DISTRICT <br />Circle Pines, MN 55014 <br />H ONOR•P RIDE•I NTEGRITY•P ROFESSIONALISM <br />Thursday, March 31, 2022 <br />ATT: Mark Statz <br />City Administrator <br />City of Centerville <br />RE: Project Banjo <br />I performed a review of the documents provided for the Project Banjo industrial building <br />th <br />proposal on 20Ave and Fairview Street in Centerville. <br />The questions/concerns/comments that the Centennial Fire Districthave that are mentioned <br />below are based on the preliminary drawings dated 03/04/2022: <br />Address Identification <br />o MSFC 505.1 – New and existing buildings shall be provided with approved <br />address identification. The address identification shall be legible and placed in a <br />position that is visible from the street or road fronting the property. Each number <br />shall not be less than 4” high with a minimum stroke width of ½” <br />Access Road Widthand Parking Lot <br />o MSFC 503.2.3. - The area will need to support the imposed loads of the fire <br />apparatuses <br />o MSFC 503.2.1 – Dimensions – Fire apparatus access roads shall have an <br />unobstructed width of not less than 20 feet, exclusive of shoulders, except for <br />approved security gates in accordance with Section MSFC503.6. <br />o Will the parking lots be labeled (Lot A, Lot B, Lot C, Lot D, Lot E)? <br />SprinklerSystemper NFPA 13 and MSFC 903 <br />o Sprinkler system shall abide by NFPA 13and MSFC Section 903 <br />o Location of Sprinkler Riser Room(s)? <br />o Location of Sprinkler FDC(s)? <br />Can’t identify on the preliminary drawings <br />FDC’s are to be the standard 2-1/2” connections to accommodate fire <br />department apparatuses <br />o Will the south large canopy section be sprinklered? <br />Building Access and Knox Boxes <br />o What type of access will be utilized at the building? <br />Key Card/Fob Access/Numerical Key Pads? <br />o Roof Access Location(s)? <br />o Based on the building size, Centennial Fire District is requiring (3) Knox Boxes <br />One on the West, South and East sides of the building <br />o Swing Gate Access for Fire Department? <br />Key Pad or Key Fob? <br /> <br />
