Administrator/EngineerÓs Report April 13, 2022 LOCAL BOARD OF APPEAL AND EQUALIZATION Public Meeting Î Wednesday, May 13, 2022, 6:30 PM at City Hall Just prior to their regular meeting on May 13, the City Council will convene a meeting of the Local Board of Appeal and Equalization. The purpose of this meeting is to set the property values on which property taxes will be based for taxes payable in 2023. You should have received a notice of this hearing in the mail along with the new estimated value of your property. Values across almost all property types have gone up considerably this year; as much as 17 Î 30%. Important to note is the fact that just because your property value goes up by 25%, say, this does not mean that your taxes will go up 25%. If you have questions about your valuation or feel that it is in error, please contact our city assessor, Mary Wells at (612) 770-3254 or show up to WednesdayÓs meeting. PARKS AND RECREATION Park Board Vacancy The Parks and Recreation Committee has a vacancy. Volunteers Needed Î Fete des Lacs The Fete des Lacs Committee is looking for volunteers to take on the roles of Parade Coordinator and 5K/8K Run Coordinator (two separate positions). Skate Park The Parks and Recreation Committee continues to look for the publicÓs input on the existing Wheels Skate Park at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. The facility is nearing the end of its useful life and there are important decisions regarding its future that need to be made and taken into consideration (i.e. complete some major maintenance on the existing equipment, buy new modular ramps, rails and the like) or make a major investment in a poured concrete facility?
