City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br /> April 20, 2022 <br />1. Downtown Building Condition Assessment Î CDBG/HOME Grant <br />Executive Director Statz reported that the consultant did the walk through inspection of the three <br />buildings downtown, and the conditions are not good; the written report will be provided soon. <br />2. Holiday Decorations <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the quote for the holiday decorations. Discussion ensued, <br />about the lights and wreaths. Emphasis was placed on holiday lighting; the purchase of wreaths <br />will be reviewed later in the year (August) and the purchased will depend on where the EDA is <br />with their budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Remillard and seconded by Commissioner King to allow staff to <br />enter into a contract with a professional lighting vendor in an amount not to exceed $3,500 <br />for the purchase of lighting for city hall, the fire station and tree in front of city hall <br />3. Revised EDA 2022-2024 EDA Strategic Plan <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the revisions to the EDA 2022-2024 plan as outlined in <br />the RFA. A placemaking goal was added to the other goals in the plan. <br />Motion by Commissioner Remillard and seconded by Commissioner Remillard to approve <br />the revised EDA 2022-2024 Strategic Plan. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />4. Business Revolving Loan and Grant Program <br />The EDA discussed the Business Revolving Loan and Grant Program. Points of interest include <br />previous expenditures and the desire for revised language to program requirements. Staff will <br />revise language to the program and present it to the EDA at the next meeting. <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br />1. Halloween Trunk or Treat <br />Emem from Parks and Recreation gave a brief overview of the upcoming Halloween Trunk or <br />Treat event in October, and discussion ensued about ways the EDA can provide support. The EDA <br />requested that the Parks committee present the EDA with a specific ask, such as EDA-Sponsored <br />water, candy, etc. Emem will discuss further with the Parks subcommittee and follow-up with the <br />EDA. <br /> <br />2. Swag Bags <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the quotes as presented in the packet; she advised that a <br />grant helped pay for the bags last year. The EDA decided to purchase 300 swag bags. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Weatherhead, seconded by Commissioner Remillard to purchase <br />300 swag bags. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />IX.
