City of Centerville <br />EDA Meeting Minutes <br /> April 20, 2022 <br /> <br />c. Development Project Map <br />Executive Director Statz reviewed the project map, noting there are 19 active project sites. The <br />map is meant to let people know where the projects are. <br />d. Article Addressing Shortages in Small Cities <br />Executive Director Statz presented the article as information only. <br /> <br />e. EDA Letter to Downtown Property Owners <br />Executive Director Statz presented the revised letter that council approved at their last meeting. <br />The focus of the letter shifted focus from inquiring about residents’ interest in talking with a <br />developer to engaging in dialog with residents about downtown redevelopment. The revised letter <br />also addresses privacy issues that were discussed at the last council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Remillard and seconded by Commissioner King to endorse the <br />EDA letter to downtown property owners. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />f. Handout for Senior Expo on May 19, 2022 <br />th <br />Executive Director Statz provided a brief overview of the senior expo being held on May 19. The <br />event has 43 vendors signed up to date. Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the second page <br />of the handout, outlining how businesses can be advertised in the newspaper with this event. <br />President Hanzal requested the handout be distributed to our business email distribution list. <br /> <br />g. Email Correspondence regarding development of 1737 Main Street <br />Executive Director Statz reviewed the email from Karl Amilie, co-owner of the creamery, <br />regarding his difficulty finding a builder for the 1737 site. Discussion ensued about re-engaging <br />with Jim Boo (real estate agent/developer involved in the Bay View Villas development). The <br />EDA agreed to allowing Executive Director Statz one month to follow-up with Mr. Amilie, before <br />reaching back out to Mr. Boo. <br /> <br />VI. REPORTS <br /> <br /> 1. Administrator’s Report <br />Executive Director Statz reviewed the Administrator’s Report as presented in the packet. <br /> <br />2. Partner Agency Reports <br /> <br />a. Anoka County Regional Economic Development (ACRED) <br />Assistant Administrator Lewis reviewed the report as presented in the packet. <br /> <br />3. Year to Date Financials <br />None <br />4.
