DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS. <br />(A) Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meaning <br />ascribed to them in this subdivision, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br /> <br />ANIMAL means all animals, whether wild or domestic, including but not limited to dogs and cats. <br /> <br />ANIMAL CONTROL AUTHORITY means the city, acting through its employees or officials, the <br />police department, or any person or organization appointed by city council for the purpose of enforcing <br />this chapter. <br />ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER means all employees of the police and public works departments, or <br />any other person or employee of an organization appointed by the city council for purposes of enforcing <br />this chapter. <br /> <br />ANIMAL SHELTER means any premises designated by the city council for the purpose of impounding <br />or caring for animals held under the authority of this chapter. <br /> <br />AT LARGE means an animal off the owner's premises and not under the control of the owner, a member <br />of the ownerÓs immediate family, or person in control of the animal either by leash, cord or chain, or <br />similar physical restraint. <br />70΋tğŭĻ <br /> <br />
