City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />June 8, 2022 <br />EDA budget. ItÓs not specific for businesses. He feels that the funds should come out of the General <br />Fund. <br />Motion by Council Member King, seconded by Council Member Mosher for the approval <br />for the staff proposal for Professional Photography Services for the New Website with a <br />friendly amendment that the funds are to come out of the General fund not EDA <br />Administrator Statz added a friendly amendment that the funds are to come out of the General <br />Fund not EDA. <br />All in Favor. Motion carries. <br />X. COUNCIL/ADMINISTRATOR ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />1. Administrator/Engineer Report <br /> <br />Administrator Statz thanked businesses and Lions club for all of their support in funding raising <br />for the Fete des Lacs. <br />City Attorney Glaser - Attorney Glaser none <br />Junior Council Member Peterson Î Junior Council Member Peterson teams going to state Î <br />Girls Softball, Boys and Girls Lacrosse, and Section finals, Centennial end of school and Mr. <br />Peterson stated he will be a senior year next year. <br /> <br />2. Council Reports <br /> <br />a. Lakso Î <br /> <br /> Parks & Recreation Î Council Member Lakso stated that they are <br />organizing and planning for the volunteer appreciation event. She stated that <br />Music in the Park starting June 14 and it will include food trucks. They also <br />had a robust discussion with Ash Tree and emerald ash borer. Administrator <br />Statz stated that the Parks committee asked staff to get quotes on Ash Trees <br />so we could have a preferred vendor that the City could recommend for <br />treatment of the Ash Borer to residents. He stated that we do have a <br />preferred vendor and we were able to negotiate a price. He authorized Public <br />Works to treat some of trees this year and would come back next for a long <br />term management plan. He stated that some of the tree are in Hidden Spring <br />Park we want to save. <br /> Administrator Statz stated that P & Z are looking at an ordinance diseased <br />trees. Our current ordinance stated if you have a diseased tree you need to <br />get rid of. They want to make language better but there are lot of important <br />questions to think about Î is it public health hazard or is it public safety <br />issue. We cannot stop Ash Borer plus we are surrounded by others that are <br />not taking care of this. We are attempting to make sure we have no public <br />safety issues and make sure people are responsible for taking down the <br />diseased trees that pose as a public health treat.
