<br />Approved <br /> City of Centerville <br />Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes <br />June 1, 2022 <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE <br />MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville’s Parks & Recreation Committee held a <br />scheduled meeting on June 1, 2022 in the Council Chambers located at the Centerville City Hall. The <br />meeting was also livestreamed at: https://northmetrotv.com/channel-15-live-stream. <br /> <br />Present: Committee Member Emem Akpan <br /> Committee Member Kathy Freiermuth <br /> Committee Member Heidi Errickson-Grahek <br /> Committee Member Brian Peterson <br /> Committee Member Suzanne Seeley <br /> <br />Absent: Committee Member Jessica Kubat <br /> <br />Also Present: Ms. Teresa Bender, City Clerk <br /> Ms. Michelle Lakso, City Council Liaison <br /> Mr. Paul Palzer, Public Works Director <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Committee Chair Errickson-Grahek called the June 1, 2022 meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. <br /> <br />II. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Peterson to approve the <br />agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />III. APPEARANCES – NONE <br /> <br />IV. PUBLIC HEARINGS – NONE <br /> <br />V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. 22-007: Comprehensive Parks Trees Plan <br /> <br />Committee Member Seeley distributed laminated samples of leaves from an Ash tree to committee <br />members for ease in identification of an Ash tree. She also suggested that the City post a sample in the <br />vestibule to aid residents in distinguishing an Ash tree. <br /> <br />a. Emerald Ash Borer DNR Grant Information <br /> <br /> Director Palzer stated that the grant application process is very complicated and has very specific <br />requirements, including such things as a management plan, etc. A copy of the application process was <br />distributed. It was stated that the grant period runs through 2024. It was recommended that this topic be <br />tabled until the July meeting with the information being thoroughly reviewed by all and also to invite a <br />DNR representative to attend the July meeting. Ms. Bender will also obtain copies of tree plans of other <br />cities. <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
