CITY OF CENTERVILLE REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Agenda Item # Department: Requested Council Meeting Date: September 14, 2022 Engineering VIII.1 TITLE OF ISSUE: Plans and Specifications for City Hall Parking Lot Lighting Improvements BACKGROUND AND SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Our engineers have prepared technical plans and specifications for the bidding and construction of the City Hall Parking Lot Lighting Improvements. To save on engineering costs, staff will be handling the bidding of the project, through the quote solicitation process. This work may be eligible for partial reimbursement, through an OSHA grant. However, grant funds have been exhausted for 2022 and will refresh on 1/1/23. Therefore, staff will have the work quoted for construction in 2023. The OSHA grant may provide up to $10,000 with a 1:1 match required from the city. All work can be completed without disruption of the parking lot, so there is no need to do this work prior to reconstruction of the parking lot. COST AND SOURCE(S) OF FUNDING: Quotes to be solicited. Engineering costs previously approved. REQUESTED COUNCIL ACTION: Motion to approve the Plans and Specifications for the City Hall Parking Lot Lighting project and to authorize staff to solicit quotes for the work (to be completed in 2023).
